Redemption Center Portal Prototype CLICK to enter Portal
One of the purposes of this web-site is to be a launching pad for different Portals, that are focused on an industry or business hub specifically designed for people in that business. It could also be used an information center for everyone, it would be user-friendly and interactive. While the first one I want to do is not that sexy, it’s really kind nasty and gross, I can say that because I was in the business for several years in the 1990s. The Beverage Container Redemption business in Maine, also known as the “bottle law”.
From this page, we will develop the portal and eventually launch it on it’s website. It will take time to study the industry, find out what is needed and what areas are under-served.
We will have a directory of open redemption centers, government resources and appropriate laws, of course, related advertising. It will be a work in progress that will given its own chance spread its wings and fly.

In the meantime, we will do a brief history of the bottle bill, a spotlight section and fill this page with pictures of..., you guessed it, Bottles and Cans!
Today’s Maine “Bottle Bill” program began in 1978. Over the years, the bottle bill has evolved into a successful recycling program for glass, metal, and plastic beverage containers which reduces litter, conserves resources, and saves energy. It helps maintain the beautiful image of Wild Maine and provides opportunity to make money for some Maine Residents. It has changed over the years, even survived a couple attempts to have it phased out. After 40 years, I think it’s safe to say the “bottle bill” is an important part of life in Maine.
See this page in the future for news on the changing bottle bill as well resources for the redemption Industry.
