One of things I want to do, is to hit as many Bottle Redemption Centers around the state as I can. Because no one hardly ever reviews of those. Or if they do they just give negative reviews because they have a bad experience. I owned a Redemption center back in the day in Mattawamkeag. I called it Boomerang Redemption. But too many people said we don’t know what that means. I would answer… “It’s like a Boomerang, you throw it away and comes bac-- never mind” So we ended up just calling the bottle room.
There are a little under 400 redemption centers in Maine. It’s a high margin business. If you can stand smell and keep it organized and like any business treat your customers well. They will keep coming back. I used to like the CLYNK that are in many towns but the one at the Brewer Hannaford is ALWAYS broken down and sometimes they can’t even take your returnables. What good is that type of technology if it makes things less convenient? So probably in the spring, I’ll load my van full of bottles and hit as many of those 400 as I can across the state. Hey that reminds me of a story! Just kidding. Next time.
