I’ve been doing the Google Maps Local Guide program for about a year and a half. I really dig doing it, in my life of constant change it’s been the only other constant thing. I kind of fell into it as I explained in the first entry of this blog and in fact, this blog was inspired by the program. Local Guides is a worldwide program, Google won’t tell how many people participate in the program. Some casually, some very serious and even tie it into their jobs or businesses.
I was becoming like that, I loved learning things about Google Maps, traveling, writing, taking pictures. Then Google announced Connect Live 2019! It was and is basically a free trip to San Jose in October. Like a big convention for like-minded Local guides. It would have been cool, I wasn’t selected. I thought about cutting back on Google Maps or stopping altogether. Many, many other local guides did, some were quite upset they weren’t chosen. After a month of consideration, I’ve decided to do the opposite and up my game on Google Maps, more reviews, more pictures, more video. I’m also trying to turn it into a business, the genesis of that can be found by CLICKING HERE! So I leave this blog with my application video to the 2019 Connect Live Conference. Thanks for reading/looking/watching and see you next time with My Adventures with Google Maps!
