With over 30,000 locations across USA, Redbox has become as common as a cold. As my adventures continued I realized, each and every one of those vending machines are listed on Google Maps and they don’t get a lot of reviews. Well, really? what are you going say about them? They’re machines. They work or they don’t. As a local guide and obsessive reviewer, I mean I review everything now. Parks, Dumpsters, gravel pits, potholes. Whatever. I really wanted to crack these 30k of potential review targets. And… I think I found way. First, is the photos, I try to get the box “in Action”. Recently, I said to my friend, “Hey go stand in front of the Redbox and pretend to use it." (She gave me a funny look) "C’mon, it’s for google and I’ll shoot from the back.” She responded with…”I’ll shoot you in the back”
Well, that didn’t fly plus I’m not really into staging, if I can’t get a shot of an actual customer using the machine, I also try to get a pic with something in the background or around the machine that shows where it is. Which so far, I’ve been able to do that twice.
Lastly, I try to write a poem/a rhyme that uses the titles of the movies in the “description”. It's not good poetry or does it even make any sense, but it’s kind of fun and different. If you want to read my rhyming reviews click on the towns in the the next sentence. This past week, I did my first three, in Bucksport, Lincoln and Brewer. Only 29,997 more to go, give or take. I hope you’ll join me!
