Dysart's Travel Stop
|
I visited Dysart’s Travel Stop in Lincoln, Maine kinda on a whim. I had gotten gas here a dozen times, paid at the pump but never gone inside. Well, that was a mistake I’m glad I finally corrected. This place is cool, the staff is helpful/friendly and the food is excellent! I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 stars (but I’m not going to tell you why till the end of the review, so see you at the bottom of the page)
Here’s their 5 good points:
To me, the only reason the Lincoln Dysart's Travel Stop get a 4 instead of a 5, is I think they need more marketing. Like I said, I’ve gotten gas there dozens of times and never felt the need to go in. I have noticed quite a few cars there during lunch time during the week. So local people know the food is good. But it’s a “travel stop”, so exterior marketing and a stronger online presence might help. IMO
That’s it, check them out, if you haven’t. As always, Thanks for reading.
Here’s their 5 good points:
- The place is really and well organized. It’s a small space, which is surprising because it’s a big building. But there’s also a car wash and maybe offices, i don’t really know.
- The selection is kind of half convenience store/half tourist trap type merchandise. Which is fine, many stores in Maine and probably everywhere else to this type of set-up.
- The staff from the person at the front counter to the person taking the food order were all very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful.
- The day I was there, they were having trouble with their computers/debit machines. They were working on it and handling the transactions (all cash) the best they could in that type of situation.
- The final good point is the one most people care about: The Food. I haven’t tried a lot on their menu but I plan going back several more times. I had a steak n cheese which was quite delicious. Came out fast and they brought it right to the table. I’m looking forward to their pizza and hot wings, which I will try time.
