I’ve been to the 105 Restaurant & Lounge in West Enfield twice this year. It appears to be located in some kind of former Grange or VFW hall. A huge building that looked like it served another purpose in a different era. There are many pool tables and the restaurant/lounge section is sort tucked in a corner. It is kind of a funky place that I really want to give 5 stars, but I can’t and here are the reasons why:
- The layout inside is interesting: part arcade/part pool hall/part lounge & Restaurant. Has a real retro bowling alley type feel. It’s uniqueness is actually a bonus.
- The drinks are very decent and quite creative. The Penutbutter mudslide alone is worth the trip to the 105 Lounge. They are very well-made and they make one best top shelf long Islands I’ve ever had.
3. The food I sampled was also top notch. The Burger was tasty and the Ingredients were fresh, fries were good. The buffalo chicken wrap was the perfect mixture of buffalo and blue cheese. The Pizza was little bit a downer, basically it was boring and bland tasting. I guess I expected more after trying the other items. Not enough to give them points off, but just...boring.... I guess is the only thing I could say about their pizza.
4. Now here’s the one big NEGATIVE about 105 that prevents me from giving them 5 stars. The service. The staff wasn’t mean or rude. Just the opposite, they were quite nice. But the WAIT on everything was slllloooooowwww. From drinks to food, everything just took too long and the place wasn’t that busy!
So there you have it. I plan on returning several times, maybe play some pool, sample other food and drinks and see if the service has improved. I would really, really, REALLY like to give them a better rating, but for now I’ve got to give the 105 Restaurant & Lounge 4 stars.
